Howe-Woods Technical Services Proven Design Engineering Capabilities for
the support of following on going projects...
Currently HWTS is on contract with
Crane Nuclear, Inc. in Bolingbrook, Illinois to provide analytical
support for valves that are installed in various power plants.
This support includes, but not limited to, the Seismic and
Weak-link Analysis of motor operated valves located in various nuclear
plants. Some of the major plants are the
Duke Energy Occonne Plant and Carolina Power & Light Shearon Harris
power plants.
HWTS is providing design engineering
support for the piping and other mechanical systems of Itasca Power
Company=s
15MW biomass power plant that is being constructed in Northome
Minnesota. This will consist on an
evaluation of the proposed designs for the main steam, feed-water,
condensate and heating plant piping systems to insure that they meet the
design requirements of ASME B31.1 power piping.
The activity also includes the design layouts of the piping
systems and providing detail drawings for construction.
HWTS provided engineering technical
support for the upgrade of the O'Hare International Heating and
Refrigeration piping system. This consisted
of design analysis and review of the proposed modifications to the High
Temperature Water Piping located in the underground utility ring tunnel.
Headquarter
Heating Boiler Replacement
HWTS provided the design-engineering
for the replacement of the heating boilers at the Illinois Department of
Transportation District #3 Headquarters in Ottawa, Illinois.
This consisted of an evaluation of the existing physical heating
plants and preparing detail drawings plus specifications for there
replacement. The existing two heating
boilers were replaced with smaller high efficiency modular type of
boilers.
HWTS provided design engineering for
the support system of the high pressure air piping on one of the test
set-ups at the Naval Air Warfare Center in China Lake California.
This consisted of an evaluation of the existing supports and
proposed design changes to meet the specified high pressure and flow
conditions. The activity included the design and layout of the piping
system. It also provided detail drawings for
construction.
