Complete Pressure Vessel Analysis
Home

y HWTS Inc. can provide complete pressure vessel analysis with respect to the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes. The analysis can address all major areas of concern. The first step in this process will be a review of all dimensional information supplied by the manufacture. Where necessary, a detailed analysis of the pertinent design information can be provided to the manufacture. Once the dimensional information is confirmed and the acceptance criteria outlined, a detailed analysis can be finalized. The analysis could address the following area depending on the code requirements.
Areas Addressed.

bulletJoints - Longitudinal and Tangential

The longitudinal and tangential joint stresses due to internal pressure and external loads are addressed with respect to their applicable loads.

bulletNozzle Loads

The longitudinal and tangential stresses induced by the nozzles and due to internal pressure and external loads are addressed with respect to their applicable loads. A number of different methods are employed here depending on the size and location of the nozzle. Nozzles located on the cylinder wall are treated differently than the nozzles located on a head.

bulletSupporting Structure

The longitudinal and tangential stresses induced by attachments and due to internal pressure and external loads are addressed with respect to their applicable loads. Attachment and other supports are treated similarly to nozzles and a number of different methods are employed here depending on the size and location of the attachment.

bulletFatigue Loading

A fatigue analysis of a vessel is sometimes required by the ASME Code. The criteria for fatigue analysis is addressed in Section VIII Division 2 for mechanical loads and in Section III for thermal loads.

bulletExternal Loads

All external loads with respect to wind and seismic conditions can be addressed depending on requirements.
